More good news for those considering a move to Fort McMurray for work. As of this month, Shell and its two partners in the Albian Sands project will invest in upwards of $60 million in massive new mining trucks and tractors that will add to the some 200 units already in operation. This undoubtedly will create new job opportunities on a variety of levels.

As early as last year, Shell had set aside plans to expand into Jackpine, which would have increase production by 100,000 bpd.

However, Shell's Scotford Upgrader is currently being expanded to handle extra production from Muskeg River. Scheduled to open next year, the expansion will raise production of synthetic crude to 255,000 barrels per day.

We feel these are incredibly positive signs for those looking to Fort McMurray for employment opportunities.
